Location: The Sawmill Playhouse, 33 Crichton Ave. downtown Dartmouth, upstairs
The play in three short acts is a warm-hearted and good-humoured look at ourselves as community theatre thespians. All the things that happen during the course of this play have happened on many stages everywhere.
Production dates: Thursdays to Sundays, November 9 – 25
We are looking for a cast of 10. The castings are quite flexible for both age and gender.
Aggie Marville – stage manager and prompter
Gerry Dunbar – a community theatre director
Henry Benish – Lord Dudley/a character actor
Polly Benish – Lady Margaret/a character actress
Smitty Smith – Doris the maid/a supporting character
Saul Watson – Doctor Rex Forbes – a villain
Billy Carewe – Stephen Sellers – a juvenile
Violet Imbry – Diana Lassiter – an ingenue
Louise Peary – a backstage technician
Phillis Montegue – novice playwright
The director will welcome prepared monologues if you have them. Scenes from the text will be available for cold readings.

Skip ahead 40+ years and our own version of this spirit is coming together at Dartmouth Players Theatre, with the Not Ready For Primetime Dartmouth Players! We hope to be a fun collective of Dartmouth Players members that can spread joy to humans and monkeys everywhere.
