Covid 19

Overview

We are Dartmouth Players, a community theatre who have been in business for over 35 years. We have our own indoor venue, The Sawmill Playhouse located on Sullivan’s Duck Pond, 33 Crichton Avenue, Dartmouth. It normally seats 115.

The Dartmouth Players Society is excited about our safe return to the stage. Amongst all of the distancing and safety measures that we are familiar with from the last 18 months we are proud to offer up to twice weekly rapid testing to our volunteers to help ensure that rehearsals and performances are proceeding safely for our Casts, our Crews, and of course, Our patrons.  This program is enabled through the “Nova Scotia Workplace COVID-19 Screening Program” and is free of charge through the province of Nova Scotia.

Vaccination

All patrons and volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated to enter Dartmouth Players. ID and Proof of vaccination will be required to enter the building. Exceptions include children younger than 12 and those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons. These individuals will need to provide a Valid Medical Contraindication for COVID-19 Vaccination letter. Children aged 11 and younger are not required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result when accompanied by a parent or guardian who meets the entry requirements

For more information about providing a proof of vaccination, follow this link here.

Masks

All front of house staff will be wearing masks. Attendees will be asked to bring their own masks. Masks will be required throughout the full theatre experience

Ventilation

We have a York Predator 7.5 Ton air exchanger/air conditioner. It is capable of moving 7600 cubic feet per minute. That exchanger will be running during the entire performance, taking out the old air and bringing in the fresh.

Physical Distancing

While physical distancing is no longer required by the province we do ask that you respect the other patrons personal space.

Reducing the Risk

On entering, patrons will be checked  for masks, phone numbers and asked to sanitize.

 Cleaning

Enhanced cleaning measures have been put into place before, during and after each performance. Common contact surfaces and washrooms are regularly sanitized by our volunteers.

Contact Tracing

Ticket Pro has always asked for phone numbers in case of cancellation. In addition the attendant each evening will check tickets and phone numbers. We will keep contact information until 21 days following the final performance.

Emergency Plan

Front of House will ask anyone showing signs of Covid to leave the theatre. Should any actor demonstrate signs of Covid the production will be shut down until they can get a negative test.
